We had a board meeting today, and we appointed a new person to the board of directors - Mika Gustavson.

We also discussed some possible changes on Sheroes Central, including consolodating Sheroes Fans into it - more about that below.

Next meeting is late May/Early June.

Potential changes to Sheroes Fans:

Of the forums on Sheroes fans, the following are active:
Anime, Et Cetera, Troubleshooting, Games, Library Club Discussions, Players, Ragtime

The following seem rather inactive: Book Club, Critique, Art, Crafts, Tammy Awards, Tammy Fanfic

What we're looking at, at the moment, is the following:

Merge Anime with the Zines forum on Central
Merge Critique with Writing discussions on Central
Merge Players with the SheroesCentral theatre forum
Merge Troubleshooting with the Tech Diffs on Sheroes
Merge Art with Crafts, and also get all the Banner making & competitions etc into that forum as well.

We'd keep the other active forums, except Et Cetera (which which would merge into Non-Sheroes) - so we'd have fora on Central for Games, Library Club Discussions, and Ragtime. These fora, and the Art & Crafts forum would be under a new section on Central, while the others would be under the same.

What we also want to know, is if you guys still want the Tammy Awards and Tammy Fanfic forums.

We'd also like to look at retrying a Bookclub on Sheroes.

This is all, of course, still up for discussion, and we'd especially like to know what you all think. We're thinking about putting all of this into place around May 15th.

Any thoughts, questions, comments?

I don't know how many anime/ manga fans there are on Central, but I'm fairly sure it's more than the number of active Fans members. If there are enough, perhaps we could just have an "Anime and Manga" sub-forum in Entertainment and Popular Culture? In my opinion, the anime and manga discussions don't seem to fit in to 'Zines, because it's not just about periodicals. Also, 'Zines is rather low traffic too..., but that's just my take.

I still feel that we should merge 'Fans as a whole into Central because it is so low traffic and it would be nice to only have to visit one site instead of two, but then again, I wasn't active on 'Fans until things started to really quiet down, and so I don't have the same attachment to it's separate status as older members might.

Yes, The whole idea is to move everything off the sheroesfans domain onto the sheroescentral message board.

With a 'Zines/Anime merge what I was thinking was more of a whole new forum, to discuss anime, manga, graphic novels, magazines, comics ... that whole gamut. The forum wouldn't be called "Zines", and it wouldn't be called "Anime" (I don't know what it would be called, though).

Does that make a bit more sense?

I'd like to keep the fanfic... maybe put it somewhere with the writing discussions. I don't really know how the Tammy Awards works so...

A Bookclub! This is on Central, right? A Bookclub on sheroes sounds really awesome. I suppose we'll define the rules properly later.

Another thing... are you able to help us move some things around in the LCD forum... you know, being a mod?

Of the other threads, we'll still need "Rules", we could use "Question and Answer" and "Welcome to the Tortallan Role Play Game". Otherwise, you can just get rid of the other ones. Or unpin them, or move them, or whatever you do.

Maybe you could merge the critique and fanfiction into writing and discussion. I think they just need more visitors (which they may get if fans is merged into central)

Wow... I guess that makes sense, and with most of the older members gone, 'Central would be a better place, but sentimentally this is making me sad, since back in the day we worked really hard on keeping 'Fans alive.
I'm really excited to see how 'Fans manages to merge into 'Central though.

I noticed from a post on central that there was a BOD meeting on June 4th. If I may ask, has anything been decided regarding merging 'Fans?

Sorry, I've been slack. Life and work got more than a little crazy there for a while, but I think I'm out of that tunnel.

The decision has been made to definitely merge Sheroes Fans in with Sheroes Central. We were holding off on doing that so that we'd have a few things happening all at once, but those other things also haven't been happening either ....

The next board meeting is on the 20th of August, and hopefully by then you'll start to see some movement on a merge.
